To minimize the volume and disposal costs of the wastes generated at the different units, TAL installed a 2 ton incineration boiler, which uses factory wastes - fabric waste, thread cones, and carton boxes/paper as combustion fuel.
Biogas is the product of the natural biological breakdown of organic & carbon-rich waste when the supply of oxygen is restricted. Our technology extracts the value contained in non-recyclable waste by producing 'biogas', a methane-rich natural gas.
It is renewable Source of Energy where wastage food has been using as a row material. Instead of disposing of the food waste used every day, the factory uses it as feedstock for its biogas plant for cooking
Prismatic skylights enable Prismatic Operation by harnessing the sun so that electric lights can be dimmed or turned off for a portion of the day, conserving energy while making the interior more pleasant for occupants.
Our 125 kw solar panel on the rooftops meet 5% of the total electricity required by the factory.
Unlike fans usually used in offices, factories and houses, ours are set on top of the sewing floor of the factory building, to evenly distribute cool air.
Two Bitopi Group facilities have installed the Effluent Treatment Plant to purify water and remove any toxic and non-toxic materials or chemicals from it. Electro catalytic oxidization technology is innovative, and for the first time in Bangladesh the reactor synthesizes nano catalysts that continuously enter the wastewater and accelerate treatment processes. TAL installed an Electro Cascade Reactor at its on-site ETP that runs at a capacity of 70m3/hr. ETP is essential to purify the waste water coming from different types of water usage, and through this process, the waste water can serve different purposes such as washroom flush with zero hazardous discharge.
In steam-using industries, Latent Heat refers to the energy required to transform water into steam, also known as the Enthalpy or Heat of Vaporization. By absorbing this Latent Heat, water becomes steam, and by releasing it, steam reverts to high temperature water (condensate) When steam condenses, at the threshold or instant of phase change, the condensate temperature is the same as steam because only the latent heat has been lost, and the full amount of sensible heat remains. This condition is known as “Saturated Water”. Not wasting, but rather recovering and reusing as much of this sensible heat as possible is one of the main reasons behind condensate recovery.
Unlike conventional boilers, which use water/steam as heat transfer fluid, thermal oil heaters can operate at atmospheric pressure and achieve temperatures up to 300°C. Thermal oil heaters are thus relatively cheaper and convenient. Plus, they minimize the risk of corrosion, lime deposits, and scale formation. In This Boiler BNO32 Grade Thermo oil is popular in this country.
Two of the facilities replaced 12 steam dryers in the wet processing section with 12 thermal oil heaters and 9 Washing M/c Steam heating to Thermal oil Heating.
Water recycling is a former wastewater which is collected from Rain Water harvest plant and through ETP by disaggregating chemicals and impurities from the water that has been used in washing. This water is used in sustainable landscaping irrigation, industrial water needs, and toilet purpose.
Our main goal is to provide authentic and standard products on ex-factory price to all the workers so that all the workers can get the product within reach. At the same time help worker benefit through decreases in monthly costs on grocery items.
Bitopi has always taken initiatives through undertaking charity work for the underprivileged sections of the society. After collaborating with ILO on such inclusive program we believe if we train them properly and recruits them as per their skills we will be able to change the mindset of the society and they can perform as mainstream worker in any kind of organization.
We have created job opportunities for the disabled people by accommodating supporting equipment and training thus the initiatives can generate a great impact on economic growth of our country.
There is an overwhelming evidence that achieving gender sensitization for women has immediate impacts that benefit them directly and larger ripple effects that are good for society more broadly. Through affiliation with ILO and UNICEF and organizing awareness program we wish to unleash the potential of women which is one of the most powerful and enduring ways to help families and communities prosper.
From raising their voice to make knowledgeable about their rights regarding basic facilities at work, work environment and proper evolution of work, health consciousness and so on.
We make sure they get the support from us through skill training and various kinds of health programme initiatives.
collaboration with Diabetic Association and Centre for global health research Bitopi Group has introduced an educational camp and screening program emphasising on GDM for the female worker to prevent diabetic during pregnancy and afterwards.
Every year Management arranges Annual Picnic and sports day to rejuvenate and motivate the workers and staffs Bitopi Group arranges the annual picnic to escape from monotonous lifestyle where the Chairman, Managing Director and the Directors take part with the Executives.
An MoU between TAL and BRAC ISD has been signed to ensure skilled workers ready to join TAL anytime required. Mr. Miran Ali, MD, Bitopi Group and Ahmed Tanvir Anam, Development Program, BRAC ISD have signed on behalf their organizations on 31st Dec’17. BRAC ISD has been advised to provide us trained workers from diversified social strata especially minority group such as tribal community at TAL.
Trauma Link is a volunteer-based emergency response system for victims of road traffic injuries. An agreement has been signed between TAL and Trauma Link for victims of road accidents of TAL at this stage. A signing ceremony was held at TAL and was signed by Mr. Shawon Debnath and Ms. Fariha Afrin on 8th Feb’17 at TAL.
A signing ceremony will be held soon between TAL and Phulki (UNICEF) who will work simultaneously to improve health and nutritional status of female workers and their children of TAL. Trauma Link is a volunteer-based emergency response system for victims of road traffic injuries. It is expected to be signed by Mr. Ashique M Chowdhury, Group HR Controller, Bitopi Group and Ms. Fariha Afrin, Advocacy & Documentation Manager, Phulki in April 2018.
